Characteristics skill gain above 31
#1
In Wurm Unlimited there is a softcap of characteristics skillgain (body, mind, soul and subskills) when you reach 31 skill in these.
The skillgain drops to 1/18th from the same actions at this point.

I would suggest to modify this to a more relaxed curve, getting higher characteristics is quite an important thing in Wurm...

Example:
[18:24:39] Mind logic increased by 0.0002 to 30.9998
[18:24:55] Mind logic increased by 0.0002 to 31.0002
[18:25:12] Mind logic increased by 0.000011 to 31.000212

All above is from continuous mining.

I adjusted the number already when it was brought up in GL-Chat.  Requires a restart to implement.  Waiting on a patch to the Treasure Hunting System for a restart.

Monitor the numbers after the next restart.

Very good news, thank you for it!

Just as a heads up, I cut the "nerf above 31" in half.  At least mathematically I did assuming it has a linear impact.  So this may take a few tries to get it reasonable but not overpowered.

Thank you, I'll keep track of the skillticks during the coming grind sessions ...

UPDATE:
[18:14:36] Mind logic increased by 0.000044 to 31.429834 - mining
[18:22:14] Mind logic increased by 0.000044 to 31.431374 - smithing

So the skillgain is 4x more than before, the nerf at 31 skill is now 1/4.5 (now drops to 22% from the level before reaching 30), seems a bit steep still but already much better than before. I have no idea how will it work at higher levels.

Agreed, that is still a tad severe.  Let me think on it a bit.
